Lamps redirected from landfills

made by pigeons produces lamps out of discarded single-use plastic bottles. The entire process from waste to finished product is done under one roof in Cape Town.

We are out of stock for now but consider joining the newsletter to hear when the next batch of lamps is ready.

Our process
A photo showing coke bottles
The raw material
It all starts with collecting as many bottles as possible.
Strips of PET plastic
Making things less gross
The bottles are cleaned, have their labels removed and are cut into long strips
Strips of plastic converted into filament
Producing filament
The strips are loaded into a pulltruding machine to turn them into filament for a 3D printer.
A lampshade being printed
Let the robots do their thing
The lampshade is then printed using the same plastic from the bottles!
